Luke 8:22-25
22. Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out.
23 But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?”
And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”.

Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.MFM Daily Devotional Message Friday, 17th April, 2026.
The roaring and raging of the waters, rains, storms and floods are the rising of the enemy against your peaceful existence. Thank God because He promised us in His word, that His Spirit will lift a standard against them for our sakes (Isaiah 59:19). Jesus was in the boat with His disciples, peacefully asleep, when the storm arose; it was so turbulent that the disciples gave in to fear rather than faith. Thankfully, they remembered to call on Jesus.
The roaring and raging of the waters, rains, storms and floods are the rising of the enemy against your peaceful existence. Jesus was in the boat with His disciples, peacefully asleep, when the storm arose; it was so turbulent that the disciples gave in to fear rather than faith. Thankfully, they remembered to call on Jesus.
The same happens to many of us. At critical moments, our hearts fail and we seemingly forget the One whose presence is always with us; hence, we give in to fear, worry and anxiety. It is not uncommon for children of God to be afraid, but one thing is required of you and that is to ensure you are holding on strongly to God in faith through Jesus Christ. Entertaining doubts will rob you of your joy, peace, testimony and victory that is ahead. Remember, fear has torment. Worry is a useless emotional and mental exercise that wastes your time doing and achieving nothing. Unshakeable faith in Christ, who is your sure Anchor, is the answer to the roaring of waters.
What are the roaring waters around your life, family, business or ministry? Where is the enemy raging and threatening your peace? Your best response is faith in Jesus. He addressed the storm on the sea of Galilee and it became still. In fact, the sea of Galilee remains the calmest on earth till this day. This is the extent of calmness that God is able to give your life over every satanic rage. They shall be still and rage no more, in Jesus' name.
God is able and ever ready to deliver us from all troubles but as Christians, there is a need to stand in righteousness and look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is faithful and will yet deliver you unfailingly.
