Beloved, we are still on the topic, "Wealth Building Strategies for Christians." Today, we continue with the third strategy:
The third strategy you need to apply is to live within your means and avoid debt. One of the clearest biblical principles for wealth-building is to avoid debt and live within your means. Debt can lead to financial bondage and hinder your ability to save or invest wisely. Proverbs 22: 7 says, "The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender." Christians are encouraged to be careful with spending and avoid unnecessary debt. Living within your means allows you to save, invest, and give generously without being burdened by the weight of financial obligations.
Also, you must cultivate the habit of saving and investing wisely. Building wealth also involves saving and investing with wisdom. The Bible encourages wise planning and laying up resources for the future. Ecclesiastes 11:2 says, "Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth." Saving and investing are crucial for long-term wealth-building. You can create structures such as an emergency fund, investing in stocks or real estate, or saving for retirement. Christians should be wise stewards of their resources. However, the Bible also cautions against placing too much trust in material wealth.
In addition, you need to practise generosity and charity. One of the most important wealth-building strategies for Christians is to be generous and practise charity. Wealth should not be hoarded but used to bless others. God wants us to be generous, and He promises that those who give generously will be blessed in return (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). Acts 20:35 says it is more blessed to give than to receive. Generosity opens the door to divine blessings and creates opportunities for wealth to flow in. When we share with those in need, we align ourselves with God's will and build treasures in heaven rather than on earth.
