MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday, 4th July, 2026.

Today, we continue the topic "Wanted: Intercessors." In yesterday's Fire Scripture, we started on the story of Moses, who stood in the gap for the Israelites when God got fed up with their idolatry tendencies. Moses had gone to Mount Sinai to meet with God, but the Israelites started worshipping idols. God told Moses to go back to meet the people. Moses pleaded with God and He changed His mind. The nation of Israel would not have been in existence today if not for Moses' intercession.

Moses would have been the father of a new nation, but he refused and said he wanted God to reconsider. He didn't want such glory, even though he had been the one carrying and caring for them since they left Egypt. They also showed him their stubborn and disobedient ways yet he continued to lead them. So it would have been a great opportunity for him to be rid of them, but he did not do that. Anyone who has a mind of vindictiveness can never be an intercessor.

Dearly beloved, Moses had the mind of God. He had a heart after God's. I dare to tell you that no one can enter into the ministry of intercession without first and foremost entering into the presence of God and no one can enter into the presence of God without being a true worshipper. Therefore, we can conclude that Moses had a true heart, a sincere heart; he was totally committed without any reservation.

The ministry of intercession delights the heart of God because it enables God to roam freely in the life of man and on the earth to do what He specialises in: doing wonders and visiting the sons of man for a divine turnaround. An intercessor must have a heart with the love of God and sprinkled with the blood of Jesus. I also read about the lives of the Moravian brothers, who condemned themselves to intercession and mission. They went into a cage and were praying for 24 hours for revival, running a shift. Most of the revivals we have witnessed were given birth to by intercessors. Intercessors played a significant role in the 18th Century evangelical revival.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Friday, 3rd July, 2026.
Today's topic is crucial to our walk with God because God wants intercessors. He wants those that will stand in the gap to change the world for the better. Jesus is our classical example of all times. Intercessors are priests. Intercession is a ministry of sacrifice. As priests handle atonement and offer sacrifice on behalf of those that have sinned, so also is the work of intercessors. Intercessors are watchmen standing in the gap to ensure that things go well. They plead on behalf of the people with God and to God.

In the Fire Scriptures of today, the Israelites quickly turned from following God when Moses went to mount Sinai for forty days to receive the commandments. God called Moses' attention to their waywardness and asked him to go back to the people. Dearly beloved, God decided to destroy the people and wanted to make Moses a great nation instead, but Moses pleaded with God. He told God that the Egyptians would mock Him and say that it was because He could not bring them to the Promised Land that he destroyed them and that God should reconsider. Dear child of God, that singular act of Moses made God to change His mind and did not destroy them. Rather, He preserved them and decided to punish them in another way.

This is the type of intercessor that God is looking for. God wants those that will change the course of history, those that will move the hand of God in the nations of the world. There is so much evil in the world today: kidnapping, armed robbery, drug abuse, perversion, fathers impregnating daughters, sons impregnating their mothers and youth seeking for sudden wealth thereby using human beings for sacrifice and rituals. Dear child of God, God is looking for intercessors like Moses. Nobody would have heard of the nation of Israel today, if Moses had not interceded.

[3] In the first year of King Cyrus, King Cyrus issued a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem: “Let the house be rebuilt, the place where they offered sacrifices; and let the foundations of it be firmly laid, its height sixty cubits and its width sixty cubits,

[6] Now therefore, Tattenai, governor of the region beyond the River, and Shethar-Boznai, and your companions the Persians who are beyond the River, keep yourselves far from there.
[7] Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God on its site.

[9] And whatever they need, young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the request of the priests who are in Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail,
[10] that they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons.
[11] Also I issue a decree that whoever alters this edict, let a timber be pulled from his house and erected, and let him be hanged on it; and let his house be made a refuse heap because of this.
[12] And may the God who causes His name to dwell there destroy any king or people who put their hand to alter it, or to destroy this house of God which is in Jerusalem. I Darius issue a decree; let it be done diligently.

Today, we continue our discourse on the faithfulness of God. We have already seen that the Lord keeps His promise to His children. Today, I want you to know that God is dedicated to you. God is the Father of every true believer in Jesus Christ and He carries His children.

Beloved, God is committed to you. He will never leave you nor forsake you as He has promised in His word. In our Fire Scripture, we read of the return of the children of Israel from exile by the decree of Cyrus, the king. God restored them to their land because He was committed to them. God is committed to His people; He feels their pains and will not let them suffer endlessly.

In Isaiah 49:15-16, there is a promise that applies to every true believer in Christ. There is a picture of you engraved on the palms of God's hands. Therefore, it is impossible for Him to forget you or cast you aside. No matter what you are going through, the Lord, who is faithful, will not forget you because He is committed to you.

When the Jews returned from captivity, the walls of Jerusalem were in ruins but the Lord assured them that He had not forgotten them. Eventually, they were able to rebuild the city walls (Nehemiah 6:15). You might be in a terrible place right now as a result of your sins or as a result of the battles of life, cry to the Lord for mercy today. God has not forsaken you. He is too faithful to fail. He will forgive you and restore you. Ensure that you maintain a right standing with God and you will see His faithfulness show up in every area of your life.

Remember this, beloved, God is true to His character. Human beings are fickle; they can change with the seasons but God remains steadfast. It is wise to commit your whole life into the hands of this faithful God. With Him, you are assured of the future. God bless you, in Jesus' name.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 1st July, 2026.
To be faithful is to be loyal and steadfast. Faithfulness is one major characteristic of God. God is faithful to His children. He is faithful to His word and He can be trusted. Throughout the scriptures, we find instances of God's faithfulness. Even in our contemporary times, evidence abounds of God's faithfulness.

God promised Abraham a son but He didn't say when. Abraham and Sarah got impatient and decided to 'help' God. Despite having a son outside God's will, God still told Abraham that he would yet have a son, the child of promise. Each passing year made the promise of God less likely to be fulfilled as Abraham and Sarah grew older. However, in Genesis 21, God made good His word. Sarah had a son, Isaac, the one God had promised.

Beloved, God can be trusted. He is a promise keeper; every promise in His word is valid. The scriptures have told us that God honours His word above His name (Psalm 138:2); He will not go back on His promise. When God says a thing, it will surely come to pass. When a man promises you something, he might be unable to fulfil his promise for several reasons but that is not the case with God. God is faithful.

The Bible is full of precious promises that God has given to His children. There are promises for every area of life that the children of God should claim. In your health, in your finances, in your career, in your business, in your family, in everything that concerns you, there's a word from scripture. It is your responsibility as a believer to claim these promises. You can be robbed of your rightful inheritance due to ignorance. It is impossible to access the promises of God if you do not read the scriptures so it is imperative that you spend time in the word of God.

Beloved, I encourage you to spend time in God's word as from today. Turn your attention away from the happenings in the world and focus on His word for your situation. I assure you that He will come through for you because He is faithful.

[12] Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.
[13] And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.
[14] Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.
[15] So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
[16] Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
[17] So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
[18] And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.
[19] Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.
[20] Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

A priest stands between the people and God. He plays the role of an intercessor and offers sacrifices for atonement of the people's sins. In Israel, the priesthood was given to the children of Levi as their inheritance. However, David also acted as a priest even though he was from the tribe of Judah.

In Genesis 14:18, we are introduced to Melchizedek who is the king of Salem. This man's origin is not known (Hebrews 7:3) but we know he was the priest of the Most High to whom Abraham paid tithes (Genesis 14:20). This man's priesthood was activated even before the Levitical priesthood. It would seem that David functioned in line with this man's priesthood. This is very possible because Jesus, who eventually came from the line of David, was called a priest after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 5:10).

In our Fire Scripture, we see that David was wearing a linen ephod and rejoicing greatly when the ark of the Lord was brought to Jerusalem. He offered oxen and fatlings every six paces. In this place, he was performing a priestly duty without actually usurping the Levites because they bore the ark of God. David also blessed the people and his own household just like a priest would do.

David was not just a king, he was also a spiritual leader over the people of God. Even before he became king, he already had a habit of inquiring from the Lord with the ephod (1 Samuel 23:9-12, 30:7-8). As a sign of his love for the Lord, David wanted to build Him a temple. God, however, chose his son to build the temple instead.

David had the qualities of a priest despite not being from the tribe of Levi. Beloved, not coming from a family of pastors does not hinder you from ministering to the Lord. It does not mean you cannot serve God. Jesus has already made you a king and a priest unto Himself. So, rise up and begin to function as a priest in the name of the Lord.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday, 29th June, 2026.

David was a deep worshipper and a harpist. His music on the harp was divinely inspired. A lot of people must have known him right from his days in the wilderness so much that a servant of Saul recommended him in the palace (1 Samuel 16:16-18). Not that alone, his music was powerful enough to heal Saul from the evil spirit that was troubling him. Even though the evil spirit was from the Lord Himself, the Lord still used David's music to heal Saul. He wrote many psalms to express his deepest feelings.

Psalms are usually recited or sung to an instrument such as the harp which David played. The psalms of David reflect his depth in God and a great level of understanding. Through his psalms, David expressed his love for God and deep devotion to Him. He also expressed the importance of keeping the Lord's commandment (1,91, etc) and the Lord's faithfulness to His people (105, 124, etc). He prayed for deliverance in his distress (Psalm 3, 35, 86, 109, 140, etc), he also wrote psalms of thanksgiving for prayer answered (18,34,103, etc). He wrote a psalm of repentance when he fell into error (Psalm 51). Interestingly, David also prophesied through his psalms, he foretold the coming of the Messiah (16:8-11,22,110). Some of the most powerful prayers in the Bible are found in the psalms.

David used his writing and music gift to glorify the Lord. This is deeply instructive for Christians, especially music ministers. David's melodies were inspired by his relationship with God; his music was borne out of deep revelation, not the trending culture. His music had the power to heal because it was from the Lord's throne room. Everything we do should be for the Lord's glory. All our gifts and talents are supposed to bring healing to the nations and glorify our Father in heaven.

Beloved, make up your mind today to cultivate your gifts and talents for the glory of the Lord to whom you belong. May the Lord help you, in Jesus' name.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday, 28th June, 2026.

Today, we examine David as a worshipper. David loved the Lord so much and he worshipped powerfully to express his love. When they went to bring the ark of God, David danced with all his might, teaching Christians to offer unrestrained worship to God.

Beloved, worship goes beyond singing songs; it also includes the state of the heart. True worship is borne out of a genuine love for God. You cannot worship God acceptably if your heart is not right with Him. This is the time Jesus spoke about, when true worshippers worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

David loved the Lord so much that he declared, "I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord..." (Psalm 84:10). How can you claim to love the Lord and yet, you're unwilling to serve in His house? Your love for God will move you to worship Him through cheerful service. Just like David, a true worshipper wants to spend time in the presence of God. He declared in Psalm 27:4, "One thing have I desired of the Lord... that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, ..." David actually wanted to build God a house but God didn't permit him. So, he made abundant provision for the temple of God that his son would build (1 Chronicles 22:1-5).

Giving is another act of worship. David offered burnt offerings at an interval of six paces as they bore the ark of God. When you truly have a heart of worship, giving to God and fellow men becomes an outlet for expression.

Beloved, worship is a weapon of warfare. God Himself fights for His children who worship Him with a pure heart. Choose to worship God with your entire life today; you'll see Him show up for you in unusual ways henceforth, in Jesus' name.

[3] David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his territory at the River Euphrates.
[4] David took from him one thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.

[9] When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer,

MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday, 27th June, 2026.

David was a man of war. In fact, war was not strange to him. He faced many battles on his way to the throne and faced more on the throne. However, the beautiful thing is that he always conquered because God was with him.

David was announced to the whole of Israel in a war, when he killed Goliath. He was Saul's captain; he fought against the Philistines and gave their foreskins as bride price to Saul for his daughter, Michal (1 Samuel 18:13,27). Also, David and his men used to carry out raids while he was still a fugitive (1 Samuel 27:8-11). They used to attack towns that were enemies of Israel, the ones Joshua should have destroyed. Thus, they continued to carry out the judgement of God on those nations.

When David eventually became king, his battles did not end. He continued to fight battles and the Lord also continued to help him. His men of war were well trained so that even when David grew weak, they were able to cover and defend him (2 Samuel 21:15-17).

As Christians, we are in a battle and we have been called to be warriors. There is a constant struggle between light, which we represent, and darkness; and it is impossible to be neutral. We cannot afford to be unprepared at any time because the enemy of our souls goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). What we have to do is strengthen our hands in the Lord like David and also raise others. We have to use the weapons of warfare that the Lord has made available for us, like the word of God, prayer, fasting, and so on. The Lord wants us to be an army, not just individual soldiers. This is so that we will have people to rescue us if the enemy attacks us in our moment of weakness. Beloved, ask the Lord to make you His warrior today (Jeremiah 51:20-23). May the Lord strengthen your hands for victory, in Jesus' name.
