[Isaiah 6:1-8 NKJV
[1] In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
[2] Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
[3] And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
[4] And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
[5] So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”
[6] Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
[7] And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”
[8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 16th September, 2026.
In Bible parlance, the word "vessel" means an instrument or tool. There are useful and useless vessels. There are vessels unto honour and vessels unto dishonour. I pray that you will be a vessel unto honour in the hand of God, in the name of Jesus. God is referred to as a Potter and we humans as clay. Isaiah 64:8 says, "We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand." A potter designs a pot according to its use. He chooses its size and its shape, its colour according to His plan. As a Potter, God created us vessels according to His plan, and His desire. Romans 9:21 says, "Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use?"
Jesus, in His post-resurrection appearance, called Paul a chosen vessel, "But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel" (Acts 9:15). Just as vessels such as cups are used for drinking, we should be used for the intended purposes of glorifying God. The important question is what kind of person would God use? How can we be used as God's vessels or instruments? The first condition is nearness and availability. Isaiah had a vision in which he found himself in God's presence. Hence, he heard God's call, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" Then he answered, "Here I am send me" (Isaiah 6:8). Similarly, Samuel was near and available, hence God called and used him. The Bible records that Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called him and he answered, "Here I am."
Beloved, where were you during the last Search the Scripture hour? Where were you during the last Sunday service? Where were you during the Praise and Worship session? What impact are you making in your local church? Would you say you are near and available for God to use? Your answers to these questions determine what type of vessel you are.
