MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026.
This topic we started yesterday is a very crucial subject that can reduce our sweat when we come to the place of prayer. The second pre-requisite for answered prayers, faith, is what we want to take a look at today. From the Fire Scripture, we read about a centurion whose servant was sick at home and he wanted Jesus' help to heal the servant. Jesus said unto him, "I will come and heal him." Then the centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed."

Before we go on with the story of the centurion, let us look at what faith is. Hebrews 11:1 says "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." The Bible says further in verse 2 that, "By faith the elders obtained a good report." Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The centurion had been following the ministry journey of Jesus and when it was time for him to tap into the miracle working power of Jesus, he did the unthinkable. Jesus wanted to come to his house, but he said, He was not worthy that Jesus should come to his house, but should speak the word and miracle would happen.

Dearly beloved, Jesus commented on this act of the centurion. He said that he had never found so great faith, not in Isreal. Faith is a pre-requisite for answered prayers. You want anything from God? You will have to exercise your faith. Faith is like a magnet that attracts that thing you want from God to you.

The woman with the issue of blood exercised the same faith like that of the Centurion, she had spent all the money she had, but didn't get healed. No relative was there to help her because she was smelling. Anywhere she went people were repulsed because of the odour of her body: She preached to herself, saying, "If I may but touch the hem of his garments: (Matthew 9:20). That was all the woman needed to do. She preached to herself. Beloved, how long have you been asking for that one thing and yet you couldn't exercise faith to get it? God wants you to have faith so that you won't tarry long in the place of prayer.

It is the desire of the Father that His children approach Him in prayer. Prayer is the natural response of those who recognize their need for the help of God in their lives. The story in our Fire Scripture shows the persistency of a widow in getting what she needed. She was persistent, going daily to the judge to look into her case. The judge was the kind of person that had no regard for anyone; he does not fear God too.

What this story teaches is that for you to get anything done, you must be persistent. The first pre-requisite for answered prayer is PERSISTENCE. To be persistent is to tarry at the place of prayer until you receive answers. To be persistent is to be at the place of prayer until something happens. To be persistent is to receive value for waiting on the Lord. Dear beloved, the problem of many people is lack of persistence. When they pray for a short period of time, they give up very soon. They are so much in a hurry that they find it difficult to wait on the LORD for long.

The story of this widow in the story is a lesson to all believers. Don't give up without a fight. The problems that a lot of people are fighting is multidimensional in nature. May be the first day of the prayer is just removing the dust that gathered on the problem. Nothing really has started because, you only just removed the dust. The root of the problem is still intact. The tap root is also well entrenched in the ground. If you are peeling an onion ball you have to continue to peel the dry leaf off until you get to the succulent part of the onion. If you are in a hurry and not patient enough, the dry leaves of the onions will not allow you to enjoy the juicy part of it. Persistence in prayer is like that. You need to be patient with God for Him to settle you completely. He is the Alpha and Omega. He knows everything about what you are asking for in prayer.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday, 20th April, 2026.
We have been looking at this topic for the past two days and we want to look at another aspect of importunity in prayer. In our Fire Scripture today, there is a man who was sick of palsy and his four friends carried him, seeking for healing and solution. Fortunately, they got to where Jesus was having a revival. The place was jam packed with crowd to the extent that they couldn't gain access to the venue, but they resolved to give it everything it takes to gain access. What did they do? They removed the roof of the venue so as to gain access and they climbed up and lowered their friend into the presence of Jesus. Jesus spoke into his life and he received his healing that some hour.

Dearly beloved, it is rare to find friends like these. They decided to give it their all until their friend's problem was solved. Many people give up easily. A brother shared the story of how he prayed a particular prayer point for a year and at the end, God answered and gave him his request. He said he went back to God to ask why the simple request took that long. He said God told him that he was clearing the way, for that miracle to be permanent, and that he needed to remove some hinderances and uproot some evil elements so that he could enjoy the blessings. Since then the brother said he had renewed hope anytime he goes to the presence of God for anything at all. We need to learn from this, God does not work like a magician. He works like the mighty God that He is, a perfect God who doeth great wonders. Do not go weary. Don't give up; your miracle is close to you. God will always make perfect everything that concerns you because His mercy endureth forever (Psalm 138:8).

24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.

25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.

26 And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

27 So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.”

28 And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

29 Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

31 Just as he crossed over Penuel the sun rose on him, and he limped on his hip.

32 Therefore to this day the children of Israel do not eat the muscle that shrank, which is on the hip socket, because He touched the socket of Jacob’s hip in the muscle that shrank.

We continue today with the topic we started yesterday and we would look at another character in the Bible who exhibited importunity in prayer, Jacob, in our Fire Scripture today. Jacob settled his family because of what he was going to do. He knew if he did not get his breakthrough that day, Esau was going to waste him and his posterity. He sent his family over the brook and he was left alone. His stance was, if I die, I die, if I live I live. He was ready for any eventuality. The battle with the angel started at about 10pm at night and he was fighting with the desperation of a man who knew that his life and that of his entire family depended on his victory; otherwise, they were doomed. He fought with renewed strength until the breaking of the day, when the angel saw that he couldn't prevail and that he must get back to where he came from, he relaxed and asked Jacob his name (vs 27). There and then he gave Jacob a new name so that he would let him go. Dearly beloved, God is still in the business of answering prayers. Are you ready to pray until something happens? Are you ready to detain hour angel of blessings until he releases your blessings? Are you ready to receive that healing with prayers, or you just pray a few minutes or hours and leave it at that? Even when it seems that heaven is not responding, are you ready to bombard heaven still?

Dear reader of this devotional, do you have a sense of pressing need or emergency that drives the prayer? Are you bold enough to ask in confidence and faith without hesitation until you get the required results? Do you even trust God enough to continue to bombard heaven? This is what the Bible says in Isaiah 62:1 "For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth."

MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday, 18th April, 2026.
We are looking at another crucial topic today, titled, "Importunity in prayer." This is a very deep and powerful concept that can deepen our prayer life and relationship with God. So many people like to be in the presence of God but do not know how to start and what to start with. They rise and fall in prayer and because of that, they do not really go very far with God. What does importunity in prayer mean? It can be defined as persistent, urgent and bold prayer where one continues to ask and seek God's intervention without giving up. Importunity in prayer can also be said to be constant and insistent demanding.

Dearly beloved, the case of this widow in our Fire Scripture today can be termed importunity in prayer. this widow did not give the unjust judge a breathing space. She prayed from morning till night, the same prayer point, no variation, no tiredness, "Avenge me of my adversary." Verses 4 and 5 say, "And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me."

Dear reader of this devotional, continuing to pray despite delays or lack of immediate answers will definitely trigger heavenly response. There are times too that God wants to test your faithfulness and genuineness and know if you are just paying lip service. Your heart too must be attuned to your request. A lot of people have lost great opportunities, just because they could not tarry a while longer in the place of prayer, when they. They would strike a bit then give up, not knowing that the next strike could do the trick. By the time they give up and come back again, it takes much longer for anything to happen and the enemy will go and reinforce, coming back stronger. But continuous bombardment will weaken the stronghold of the enemy and you will have your victory. The resolve of the widow not to give up made her to triumph.

Thank God because He promised us in His word, that His Spirit will lift a standard against them for our sakes (Isaiah 59:19). Jesus was in the boat with His disciples, peacefully asleep, when the storm arose; it was so turbulent that the disciples gave in to fear rather than faith. Thankfully, they remembered to call on Jesus.

The same happens to many of us. At critical moments, our hearts fail and we seemingly forget the One whose presence is always with us; hence, we give in to fear, worry and anxiety. It is not uncommon for children of God to be afraid, but one thing is required of you and that is to ensure you are holding on strongly to God in faith through Jesus Christ. Entertaining doubts will rob you of your joy, peace, testimony and victory that is ahead. Remember, fear has torment. Worry is a useless emotional and mental exercise that wastes your time doing and achieving nothing. Unshakeable faith in Christ, who is your sure Anchor, is the answer to the roaring of waters.

What are the roaring waters around your life, family, business or ministry? Where is the enemy raging and threatening your peace? Your best response is faith in Jesus. He addressed the storm on the sea of Galilee and it became still. In fact, the sea of Galilee remains the calmest on earth till this day. This is the extent of calmness that God is able to give your life over every satanic rage. They shall be still and rage no more, in Jesus' name.

God is able and ever ready to deliver us from all troubles but as Christians, there is a need to stand in righteousness and look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is faithful and will yet deliver you unfailingly.

It is normal for the roaring of waters to occur at particular times as the Lord has ordained it from the beginning. There are times when the sea overflows and the waves roar. Those who are conversant with the sea, for example, the fishermen, know that this occurrence is not strange. However, the roaring of waters can signify more than a natural occurrence. Spiritually, it implies the rage of the wicked, the harassment of the enemy, to make the children of God afraid and unsettled.

The Psalmist explained the threatening situations in the Fire Scripture of today saying, "Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof" (vv. 2-3). These are terrifying and troubling situations that can be scary and challenging. The enemy loves to make so much noise to scare the children of God. The Bible has correctly stated that, "... your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). The attacks of the wicked usually come with so much terrifying noise. However, when you realize that God is your Refuge, a very present Help in time of trouble, then, you remain unshaken and unmoved. That is the picture painted by the Psalmist before us. These times will surely come, but with Christ in the boat of your life, there is no cause for alarm. The boat will not capsize because the Storm Stiller is in control, neither will lives be lost because He protects and sustains His own children.

Beloved, do not be discouraged by storms of life when they come. You can be assured of God's protection if you are in Christ. Every man will experience storms at certain points but the difference between Christians and the others is that Christians have an anchor to keep them afloat when trouble comes.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 15th April, 2026.
Jesus is the Truth and deception cannot be found in Him. Every man who is in Christ knows the Truth, you should not work against the Truth that saved you. You can verbally claim to be a Christian, but that should be known, not only in words but also in deed. "Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them" (Matthew 7:20).

As you continue reading, there is a need to look inwards and see if you are guilty of any dishonest practices. Any form of dishonesty will affect not only your relationship with God, but also your relationships with fellow men, in marriage, family, home, in your neighbourhood, workplace, marketplace, even in the household of God. How can you be seen as dishonest before those with whom you should share the knowledge of Christ and win their souls into the Kingdom? It is disheartening to God. You are not just a betrayer of trust and integrity to your spouse, colleagues at work, neighbours and clients, you are a disappointment and a disgrace to Christ. You cannot be numbered among the righteous.

Revelation 21:8 reveals the disastrous end of all liars, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." There is ample time while you are yet alive to have a rethink and repent from these evil ways. Confess your sins and ask God to forgive you. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your heart, teach and lead you to think, speak and do the right thing always. Resist the devil, he will run from you. Embrace the truth and your life will not remain the same, in Jesus' name.

[3]But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

[4]While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

[5]Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.

[6]And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.

[7]Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.

[8]And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.”

[9]Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

[10]Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday, 14th April, 2026.
We continue on the issue of dishonesty and how much God hates it. Dishonesty is the exact opposite of honesty; anyone that engages in it is operating on the same ground as satan. When the Almighty hates a thing, it stinks in His nostrils, and it is an abomination to Him. This therefore means that no man should toy with it, especially someone who claims to be born again and redeemed of the Lord.

Every form of insincerity - deception, lying, hypocrisy, and all such - is falsehood. A Christian should not be found involved in negative acts like having unjust weights in business, selling fake drinks, medications, building materials, foods, motor parts and many others that are harmful to humans. It is one thing to buy them ignorantly for sale. It is another when you are aware of the danger it could cause but you do such for gains. All the fraudulent acts of falsifying and manipulating facts and figures to defend your integrity, especially in money and related affairs, telling half-truths, diplomatic and white lies, boasting and exaggeration, are categories of dishonesty.

Today's Fire Scripture tells the story of Ananias and Sapphira, a couple among the early believers who decided to cheat on God. They sold their possessions just like other believers but they told a lie about the actual amount. How could they think they could manipulate the truth and get away with it? Unfortunately, they suffered instant death as divine punishment, because they grieved the Holy Ghost. Sapphira, the wife, had an opportunity to change but was guilty of evil compromise.

This is a big lesson to all believers in Christ, you cannot manipulate God. He might remain silent, waiting to see if you will change, but if there are no changes during the time of mercy, then comes the hammer of judgement. This can be very disastrous. God won't pamper a stubborn and stiff-necked Christian who does not want to yield to correction and change his or her ways.

God cannot and does not lie. Consequently, He expects His children to embrace the same virtue. Jesus is the Truth and He is the same with the Father whose Word is the Truth. God Himself is the Word, therefore, God is the Truth. Lies, falsehood, deception and every kind of dishonesty cannot be found in Him or in His kingdom.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden and also lied by shifting blames. Adam blamed the woman, and the woman blamed the serpent. Trying to hide your weaknesses or refusing to accept responsibility amounts to falsehood. Cain inherited this evil habit from his parents. He gave a stupid excuse to God who knows it all, when God asked him about his brother, "Am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:9).

Achan stole the Babylonian garment, contrary to divine instructions, and hid it. Israel suffered defeat and God revealed to Joshua that there was sin in the camp. Unfortunately, Achan didn't suffer alone for his sin; his entire family was stoned to death (Joshua 7). This is one of the gruesome consequences of dishonesty. For Gehazi, he disobeyed his Master, Elisha, and received Naaman's gifts out of greed and covetousness. When Elisha asked him about his whereabouts, he replied with a lie. Gehazi earned the transgenerational curse of leprosy as a result (2 Kings 5:20-27).

Rachel, the wife of Jacob, stole her father's idols, sat on it and gave the excuse that she was on her monthly flow (Genesis 31:33-34). She died and did not get a befitting burial (Genesis 35:16-20). Rebecca too helped Jacob earlier to deceive his father in order to take Esau's blessing (Genesis 27:6-13). These and more are examples of liars from the scriptures. God is never happy with any form of dishonesty.

Beloved, dishonesty is a sin. Scriptures point clearly to that. If God hates it, then, you can't embrace it. Sin separates men from God. Desist from it. Remember that God is not interested in the death of sinners but that they repent and come to the knowledge of Truth.

[1] Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David had returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had stayed two days in Ziklag,

[2] on the third day, behold, it happened that a man came from Saul’s camp with his clothes torn and dust on his head. So it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the ground and prostrated himself.

[3] And David said to him, “Where have you come from?” So he said to him, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.”

[4] Then David said to him, “How did the matter go? Please tell me.” And he answered, “The people have fled from the battle, many of the people are fallen and dead, and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.”

[5] So David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?”

[6] Then the young man who told him said, “As I happened by chance to be on Mount Gilboa, there was Saul, leaning on his spear; and indeed the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

[7] Now when he looked behind him, he saw me and called to me. And I answered, ‘Here I am.’

[8] And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ So I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’

[9] He said to me again, ‘Please stand over me and kill me, for anguish has come upon me, but my life still remains in me.’

[10] So I stood over him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen. And I took the crown that was on his head and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.”

[11] Therefore David took hold of his own clothes and tore them, and so did all the men who were with him.

[12] And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son, for the people of the Lord and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

[13] Then David said to the young man who told him, “Where are you from?” And he answered, “I am the son of an alien, an Amalekite.”

[14] So David said to him, “How was it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?”

[15] Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go near, and execute him!” And he struck him so that he died.

[16] So David said to him, “Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’ ”

Today's Fire Scripture shows a clear example of someone who lacked wisdom and could not refrain his tongue. As a result of his carelessness, he lost his life. This young Amalekite thought he was bearing good news; little did he know that David would not rejoice at the death of the anointed one. He earned himself a cheap death.

Are you guilty of speaking without thinking? Many people have put themselves into trouble by allowing their mouths to talk faster than their brains. James counsels us to be swift to hear and slow to speak (James 1:19). This is not a sign of timidity; it is rather a sign of wisdom. It is impatience that makes you talk rashly and foolishly.

Pride and arrogance can also be responsible for unwholesome words. Don't forget that God hates the proud. He resists them but draws the humble to Himself. A proud man is prone to telling lies and offending God in his utterances, like the rich old fool in Luke 12:16-21.

This is a serious issue that every individual should work on. The Psalmist cried to God, "Create in me a new heart, O Lord!" (Psalm 51:10) because he understood the connection between the heart and the tongue. Psalm 19:14 also reveals that prayer can be accepted or rejected by God depending on the condition of your heart and tongue. Failure to refrain your tongue from speaking guile will make your prayers unacceptable before God. Every manifestation of an untamed tongue glorifies the devil. He is a liar and the father of lies, a specialist in speaking guile.

Therefore, you must desist from these ungodly acts which are manifestations of the works of the flesh. Embrace godliness and begin to manifest the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:19-21, 22-23). Surrender yourself, including your tongue, totally to God.

It will be good to make today's memory verse a prayer, just like the Psalmist did. Ask God to purge your tongue with fire as He did for prophet Isaiah. God will honour your words and men will come to your rising, in Jesus' name.
