MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 17th September, 2025.

Christians are called to be soldiers in the army of Jesus Christ. A Christian is not a civilian. His lifestyle, work and testimonies are supposed to reflect his calling as a soldier of Christ. The truth is that, once a Christian is saved, he is enlisted as a soldier of Christ. The Christian life is designed for spiritual conflict. He is to fight the good fight of faith and ensure that the kingdom of this world becomes that of God and His Christ. Let us examine the qualities that distinguish a soldier of Christ.

First, a soldier of Christ should be strong in the grace of God. He does not rely on his own strength but on the grace of God. It takes divine strength derived from the grace that is in Christ Jesus to succeed as a soldier of Christ. With the strength and grace, you can confront and overcome challenges as well as win battles in his army of the Lord. Second, a soldier of Christ is single-minded or focused. He is committed to pleasing his Master, the Generalissimo. He is also diligent in God’s work in order to show himself approved. In addition, a soldier of Christ is sanctified. That is, he is pure in the eyes of God. He is a servant equipped and ready to serve the Master.

Furthermore, a good soldier of Christ endure hardship. He does not just give up easily in the face of challenges. He has the ability to persevere, bear any pain and pay any price for the Master’s will to prevail.

Finally, a soldier of Christ is aware of the battle against the invisible evil forces. He is involved and equipped to fight and prevail. The soldier of Christ has put on the whole armour of God. He is strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). He puts on the WHOLE armour of God (Ephesians 6:10). He submits to God and always draw close to God (James 4:7,8). He resists the devil and the devil flees from him (James 4:7). He does not conform to worldly standards (Romans 12:2).

Beloved, use the foregoing as checklist and determine whether you are a soldier of Christ or not.

The mantle is a symbol of anointing and authority which one receives to fulfil ministry. It signifies divine responsibility, God’s accompanying power, unction to function, authority of ease and God’s overshadowing anointing that cannot be insulted.

The mantle Elisha received from Elijah was highly instrumental to Elisha’s huge success in ministry. The mantle, therefore, is a carrier of anointing and an instrument for performing signs and wonders. We will recall that it was his mantle that Elijah used upon Elisha to signify Elisha’s call. Elisha also received his master’s mantle when he (Elijah) was departing the earth in order to continue the glorious ministry. The mantle was thus the power resident in Elijah through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, giving it to Elisha meant that Elijah transferred that power of God resident in him to his successor, Elisha. Thank God that Elisha put it to good use.

The Bible says that the kingdom of God is not in words but in the demonstration of God’s power. The end-time harvest of souls will succeed greatly as long as God servants are able to produce proofs (signs and wonders) that validate the sovereignty and almightiness of Jehovah. Only fools argue with divine proofs. When the children of Israel saw fire fall from heaven and it consumed the sacrifice, wood, and even licked the water on the altar that Elijah prepared, worshipped Jehovah, the God of Elijah and said, “Jehovah truly is God.” All their doubts and indecisions vanished.

The first demonstration of the supernatural power of God by Elisha after Elijah was taken up was done with the mantle he received from Elijah. He needed to cross River Jordan. Right there at the bank of the river, Elisha proved that the mantle carried unusual anointing. He smote the water of River Jordan with the mantle and the river parted this and that way. Elisha crossed on dry ground.

Today, the mantle is symbolic of the glorious, powerful, superior and mighty Holy Spirit cloak upon you to do great and mighty things. As a New Testament believer, the mantle is a spiritual adornment of His power upon your spirit man. Use it to populate and build God’s Kingdom!

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday, 15th September, 2025.

Today, we shall examine the evil effects of worldiness. This is important so that, as children of God, we are further convinced that we must avoid wordliness like a plague.

First, worldliness destroys the influence of the truth. One of the characteristics of those already caught in the trap of worldliness is that they are sermon-proof. Worldiness hinders the word of God to bear good fruits in their lives. In explaining the Parable of the Sower, the Bible, in Matthew 13:22 says, "He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful." You must not allow the love of the world to destroy the benefits of God's word in your life.

Also, worldliness deludes men into a state of false security. You should be careful not to get lost in the pleasure-seeking rave that has consumed people in these end times. You are in the world but not of the world. Matthew 24:38 and 39 admonish us to avoid what happened to men in the days of Noah.

Another evil effect of wordliness is that it makes earthly affections supreme. The Bible enjoins us to attach more importance to heavenly and spiritual things and set our affection on them rather than the things of the world (1 Corinthians 7:32-33). Beloved, let the love of God be supreme in your heart and life.

One more evil effect of worldliness you should not ignore is that it moulds the activities and plans of life.

In Ephesians 2:2, the Bible warns believers against walking according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. Finally, worldliness is evil because it leads to religious apostasy. Those who are trapped in the web of worldliness will end up forsaking God. Apostle Paul buttressed this point when he made a lamentable cry about a man called Demas in 2 timothy 4:10, "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia."

Beloved, worldliness is destructive; you must not allow the enemy to lure you into its net or trap.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday, 14th September, 2025.

Nowadays, many Christians have fallen into the trap of wordliness. The enemy is using the love of the world to hinder unbelievers from receiving the grace of God that brings salvation distract them and lead some to apostasy. In Colossians 3:2 (our Memory Verse for today), the Bible admonishes us to set our affection on things above (spiritual, enduring and eternally rewarding) and not on things on earth (worldly, mundane and temporal). It is also disheartening that many believers do not heed this great piece of advice.

Why did God say you should not love the world and the things that are in the world? The reason is that the world and the things in them (the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life) are diametrically opposed to the will of God. You cannot love the world and love the father at the same time. In fact, the love of the world will take away the love of God from you. The more you love the Father and draw closer to Him, the more you can do His will and the more the love of the world dies in you.

You need to know how people exhibit worldliness so that you avoid the booby trap yourself. The Bible asks, "What shall it profit a man who gains the whole world and loses his soul?" Many people have lost their souls in exchange for worldly riches, wealth, fame, political offices and even positions in the corporate world and their places of worship. Those who seek to gain the whole world and get enmeshed in the rat race end up in the cage or trap of worldliness. The Bible, in Luke 21:34 shows the second way people exhibit worldliness. It says, "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." Those who are caught in the trap of worldliness are filled with pleasure-seeking, excessive love of food, alcoholism and drunkenness, unbridled appetite and so on.

Beloved, it is important to remind you that when you love the world, you pitch yourself against the Lord, your maker.

Love not the world!

MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday, 13th September, 2025.

We established, yesterday, that one important expectation heaven has for your life is to become like Christ. You must endeavour to meet this responsibility. You were also shown some of the steps to take in order to become like Christ. We shall examine more of those steps today.

You must have the fruit of the Spirit. As a matter of necessity, you should deliberately set time aside to be alone with God and pray the nine fruit of the Spirit into manifestation in your life. When these nine fruit of the Spirit become operational in your life, everyone will know that Christ is at work in you and through you. When the Bible mentioned the nine fruit of the Spirit, “…against such there is no law,” it means that with these nine fruit at work in your life, the enemy may come but he will find nothing to accuse you of in you. That was Jesus’ testimony and it should yours as well.

Another step you should take to be like Christ is to set yourself apart for His work. Jesus said, “I will do the work of my Father while it is day, the night cometh when no one can work.” During His earthly ministry, He also told His disciples that his meat was to do the will of His Father who sent Him. Beloved, serve God with your life and all. If you are one of those Christians who only go to church on Sundays but have nothing they are contributing to the Kingdom and household of God, you cannot become like Christ like that.

Also to become like Christ, you must observe righteous living and godly conduct in and out of church. God was very angry with David about his misconduct with Bathsheba because he gave the unbelievers an occasion to blaspheme the name of God. The lesson here is that you must ensure that God’s name is hallowed all the time through your conduct as a Christian.

Finally, you must endure temptation and manifest the fullness of God. Jesus, our best example, endured and overcame temptation before He could reach His goal. I pray that the grace to become like Christ reflect Him gloriously to the world will be yours from today in Jesus’ name.

In James 1:12, the Bible affirms that a great reward awaits believers who endure temptation. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

MFM Daily Devotional Message Friday, 12th September, 2025.

True followers of Christ have His character and lifestyle. Beloved, you are called to be like Christ. Your goal should be to become like Christ. If you genuinely strive to achieve this daily, your life will be a true reflection of the ambassador of God that you are supposed to be. How can your life reflect Christ to the world? What do you need to do to become like Christ? Here are some important tips for you:

First, you must live a life of self-crucifixion. That is, you must crucify the flesh and make self to die. Christ must increase and you must decrease daily. The flesh profits nothing, it is the Spirit that gives life. When you mortify the flesh and make self to die, you will begin to think as Christ does, speak as Christ does and act as Christ does. Sin will not have dominion over you and you will not find it difficult to do the will of the Father. What more, being like Christ will daily become a reality for you.

The second step you should take in order to become like Christ is to walk in the newness of life. You cannot become like Christ without first becoming a born again Christian. So you must give your life to Christ or repent and genuinely return to Him if you have backslidden. Only friends of God can truly become like Christ. Once you do this, you must ensure you walk in the newness of life you just received by grace. Let old things pass away indeed and let everything become new truly. Don' ever return to your vomit.

To become like Christ, you also have to endure persecution. Some of your close associates while you were in the world might condemn, reject, revile and victimize because of your decision to leave the world and follow Christ. Don't let that deter you or stop you from sticking to your journey with Christ. Blessed are you if you are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for yours is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:10). Friends, relatives, neighbours and colleagues at work may revile and persecute you, endure the persecution.

I encourage you to make becoming like Christ a paramount pursuit for your life.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Thursday, 11th September, 2025.

God's foremost attribute is holiness. To be holy means to be sanctified and set apart for God. It means to be consecrated and to be without contamination or defilement. It also means to be without blemish, spot or wrinkle. The key to being holy is to be unquestioningly, promptly and completely obedient to God.

God's commandment that you be holy as He is holy is of great importance to all believers. If you obey the commandment and live a holy life, your first gain is that you will have and enjoy the abiding presence of God, indwelling presence of God and the empowering presence of God. If God be for you, who can be against you? All Bible characters that did exploits for God, fulfilled their destinies and ended well had one thing in common: God was with them. Secondly, holiness puts a permanent hedge of fire around you and leaves no doorway for the enemy and his arrows to get to you or harm you.

Holiness will qualify you for divine election for great assignment on earth. Holiness will attract heaven's angels and divine help to you whenever you need them. Holiness will give you victory in all battles as well as protect and preserve you in times of danger.

Holiness will also give you access to divine secrets and make you a global solution provider. It was holiness that made Daniel decode and interpret the king's dream. Holiness put Daniel and his three Hebrew brothers in the class of God in Babylon. The unbelievers attested that the spirit of God was in them. The king proclaimed that only the God of these Hebrews should be worshipped. Had Daniel, Mashack, Shadrach and Abednego eaten the king's sumptuous delicacies, they would have defiled themselves and would have become blind bats like the magicians and wise men of Babylon. Joseph refused the adulterous advances of Potiphar's wife. He chose to be holy and it paid off. The presence and power of God was so much with him that he gave an accurate interpretation of Potiphar's dream and proffered solution to a mind-boggling economic problem. Pharaoh acknowledged that God was with Joseph and promoted him to be a prime minister. Holiness made all these possible.

Be ye holy!

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday, 10th September, 2025.

Jesus exemplified and demonstrated Agape love throughout His earthly ministry. He received outcasts, the unloved, social misfits and so on. He loved not just in words but also in deed. In Matthew 8:1-4 (our Fire Scripture), a leper went to Jesus, worshipped Him and said, "Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed."

In Israel, a leper is an outcast. Lepers lived outside the city or town and they are usually quarantined, not expected to mingle with other people. They are considered as spiritually unclean and are not to touch the clean or be touched by those who are clean. Therefore, they are treated with disdain, rejected and considered as social misfits. Worse still, the Mosaic Law disfavours them. That is why Mariam had to stay outside the camp for seven days for her leprosy to be removed when she transgressed for speaking wrongly about Moses, the servant of God. As New Testament believers, we should note that sin does to a Christian what leprosy brings upon anyone who contacts it in the Old Testament. We should therefore avoid sin like a plague. Let us also note, however, that in spite of the scriptural stance on leprosy, Jesus, the most loving and self-sacrificing Saviour touched the leper and the man became clean immediately. He was indeed a friend of the sick and defender of the weak, hope of the hopeless and help of the helpless.

Jesus never neglected anyone in need. He imitated the Father by always acting in love. Do you? Besides, Jesus allowed the publicans and the harlots to come to him and they repented. He commended them in Matthew 21:31 and Luke 7:29. Jesus was also a friend to sinful women in Luke 7:47 and John 8:11. Jesus also received with the publicans and sinners. As a result, the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, "This man receiveth sinners and eateth with them." Jesus told His critics that His act was leaving ninety nine sheep and going after one lost sheep. What a wise answer! Do you have a similar passion for lost souls?

The Master expects you to.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday, 9th September, 2025.

Yesterday, we established the truth that Jesus was a friend of sinners and that sinners who enjoyed His love, friendship and salvation turned out to be value-adding members of God's kingdom.

Today, we shall examine two classic examples of sinners who experienced the friendship and unconditional love of Christ. The first was Zacchaeus, a rich publican. He desired to see Jesus who was going to pass through Jericho. However, because he was a man of small stature, Zachaeus climbed a sycamore tree so that he would see Jesus when he passed the road. When Jesus got to the place, though there was a crowd around Him, Jesus spotted Zacchaeus and told him to come down for He must abide in Zacchaeus' house that day. What lessons do we need to learn from Zacchaeus story? First, Zacchaeus had a genuine desire to see Jesus. He defied the disadvantage and limitation that his stature constituted among the crowd. He devised a means by which he would see Jesus (climbing the Sycamore tree). He matched his desire with faith and his faith with action. Remember that the Bible says that faith without work is useless. Second, to Zacchaeus' surprise, Jesus spotted him, knew and rewarded his faith and effort. How? He offered to be Zacchaeus' guest and later assured Zacchaeus that salvation had come to his house. Jesus Christ still honours and rewards faith today; even the faith of a sinner. Faith saves sinners and turns unpleasant situations around for believers. As the friend of sinners that He was, Jesus' answer to those who murmured about His going to be guest to Zacchaeus was, "The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). This is a food for thought for us all.

The second classic example is about the woman caught in adultery. Jesus saved her from her accusers. Are your human accusers making life unbearable for you? I encourage you to turn to Jesus, the friend of sinners and Saviour of the whole world. He will come to your rescue and save you. He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to the Father through Him because He daily makes intercession for them.

[36] Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.

[37] And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,

[38] and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

[39] Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.”

[40] And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.”

[41] “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

[42] And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”

[43] Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.”

[44] Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.

[45] You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.

[46] You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.

[47] Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

[48] Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

[49] And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

[50] Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

MFM Daily Devotional Message Monday, 8th September, 2025.

Jesus was sinners’ friend. Are you? Many of us relate with sinners the wrong way. We do not understand the ministry of reconciliation neither do we engage in this all-important ministry that Jesus committed to our hands when he was departing this world. Jesus loved sinners and befriended them. He did not love their sins nor befriend their sins. His unconditional love for sinners was to enable him save their souls and win them for the Father. Let us examine Jesus’ ministry with sinners and take a cue from our Royal Master.

Jesus was an epitome of unconditional love. He loved the loveless and gave His all to save sinners. Apostle Paul, appreciating the finished work of Jesus and the salvation of his own soul said, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:15). Beloved, if Jesus did not befriend and save Apostle Paul, a chief sinner, Christendom would have lost a great apostle, the third of the New Testament and millions of souls. Who ever thought that Mary Magdalene and the demonic or Gadara or even Zacchaeus would ever repent and add value to God’s Kingdom? Jesus, the Son of God, does not deal with us on the basis of our present condition, but on the basis of the purpose of God for our lives. He knows the end from the beginning.

A sinner today may be a saint tomorrow if you preach to him or her and intercede for him or her. A hell bound individual, family or nation may become heaven-bound tomorrow if the power of the gospel and the saving power of Jesus are taken to them. Jonah never believed that the people of Nineveh would heed the word of God and repent. I encourage you to show Christ love to sinners, preach to them and pray for them. Trust the Holy Spirit to convict and change them. You love them but the Holy Spirit does even more. Therefore, if you are the type that avoids sinners like a plague? You should have a rethink. Jesus related with them in love and succeeded in winning their souls for the Father.

Can He count on you for those perishing souls?
