1 Samuel 13:1-14
[1] Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,

[2] Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel. Two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the mountains of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. The rest of the people he sent away, every man to his tent.

[3] And Jonathan attacked the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. Then Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, “Let the Hebrews hear!”

[4] Now all Israel heard it said that Saul had attacked a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel had also become an abomination to the Philistines. And the people were called together to Saul at Gilgal.

[5] Then the Philistines gathered together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude. And they came up and encamped in Michmash, to the east of Beth Aven.

[6] When the men of Israel saw that they were in danger (for the people were distressed), then the people hid in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in holes, and in pits.

[7] And some of the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.

[8] Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

[9] So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt offering.

[10] Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.

[11] And Samuel said, “What have you done?” Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash,

[12] then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering.”

[13] And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

[14] But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

MFM Daily Devotional Message Friday, 10th April, 2026.

It has become increasingly necessary to keep teaching believers that those who desire to serve God in any capacity in these last days must serve Him without stain, spot, blemish, sin, or iniquity. Our God is absolutely holy, and He demands absolute holiness also from those who desire to serve Him otherwise, all their efforts will become an abomination before the Lord. In 1 Corinthians 3:13, the Scripture says, "Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is."

The sacrifice of every believer comes under the work we do in whatever form in the Kingdom. King Saul of Israel was in a dilemma because Prophet Samuel did not arrive at the appointed time; the philistine army was gathering momentum, and the Israeli soldiers were deserting the battlefield. The king became apprehensive, and he failed to trust God. Then, he offered the sacrifice which was not his responsibility. He did it in disobedience to God's instruction that sacrifices must only be offered by divinely appointed priests. He was sternly rebuked by Prophet Samuel for that sin. His sacrifice became an abomination.

The memory verse says, "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination." Who is the wicked? Anyone who is still living in sin, hypocrisy, ungodliness, rebellion, disobedience, and any form of iniquity. Therefore, whatever sacrifice the wicked brings before the Lord in the form of prayer, fasting, worship, tithe-and-offering, evangelism, seed sowing, charitable deeds, Christian service of any kind, etc, will be reckoned as abomination. And when sacrifice becomes an abomination, there is no divine acceptance, no reward or blessing of any form. The wicked person bringing such sacrifice will be seen as mocking God and may attract trouble from God.

Beloved, what type of Christian are you? Are you walking in righteousness, holiness, and in the fear of God? If you are not, then all your sacrifices are abominable to God. You need to repent now.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Thursday, 9th April, 2026.

Can Jesus commit Himself to you? We began looking at this profoundly great question since yesterday, and we ended it by asking you if your life could host the King of Glory? Apparently, there is an encounter that must precede this glorious privilege of Christ Jesus, the Lord of Glory committing Himself to you, or to any believer. Reading through the Bible, you will discover about seven types of fake encounters with Jesus Christ, such as:
1. Lip-service.
2. Insincere,
3. Religious.
4. Half-hearted.
5. Unreal.
6. Selfish, and
7. Plastic imitation.

However, only very few believers have a genuine and deep encounter with the Master. Interestingly, all these forms of encounters can be reduced to only two models: Orpah Model and Ruth Model. Orpah was shallow, unreal, half-hearted in her desire to follow Naomi. Her heart was constantly fixed on her gods and her people as she was crying to follow Naomi to Israel and to her God. She eventually turned back.

Ruth, on the other hand, was very deep, genuine, and passionate in her resolve. She was ready to make a complete break with her gods, her tradition, her people, and with everything she ever held dear to herself. She went all out, following Naomi back to Israel, also making the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob her God. Consequently, grace found her as a Moabitess, and included her in the lineage of Jesus Christ. Remember, God told Moses many years preceding this time that the Moabites must never be allowed to enter His sanctuary. "No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the LORD forever" (Deuteronomy 23:3, ESV)

Can Jesus commit Himself to you? If you really desire that Jesus Christ should commit Himself to you, there are necessary questions you must ask yourself:
Am I truly born again?
Have I truly experienced transformation by His Spirit? (You must understand that transformation is not suppression)
Am I pure and holy?
Am I a loving person?
Do I fear God?
Am I a broken believer?
Am I living daily with eternity in view?

[15] When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables.

[16] And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

[17] Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”

[18] So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”

[19] Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

[20] Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”

[21] But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

[22] Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

[23] Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did.

The ministry of Jesus Christ was so impactful and full of exploits. This made many of the Jewish people believe in Him. However, Jesus was not carried away because there is a wide gap between believing in the Lord and laying the totality of one's life upon the altar as a living sacrifice. So, Jesus did not commit Himself to them. Beloved, can Jesus commit Himself to you in this generation? What does it mean for Jesus to commit Himself to you? It means:
1. Jesus pouring His life into you.
2. Jesus pouring His fullness into you.
3. Jesus making you a carrier of His presence.
4. Jesus making you a receptacle for His divine ability.
5. It means Jesus giving you a role to fulfil in God's end-time programme.

You are not a flippant individual, and you are highly disciplined.

For Christ to commit Himself to you, He must have tested you, proved you, and found you worthy of that glorious honour of hosting His life. It then means that Jesus has found you to be trustworthy, dependable and found you to be a person of integrity. You are not a prodigal child who fritters away divine resources. You are not a frivolous person.

Unfortunately, Jesus Christ can not commit Himself to many believers despite their cry, lamentation, and prayers. Why? The majority of Christians do not have the right kind of heart that will attract such a profoundly glorious blessing. For instance, there was this case of a brother who was fasting and praying for many days, asking God to entrust His power and anointing to him, but God did not answer. Because if God would entrust His power and anointing to anyone, Jesus must commit Himself fully to the person. When God did not answer, the brother humbled himself and asked God why He was not speaking to him, and God showed him his very poor standing before the Almighty God. The brother's life was a repository of different carnal vices of stupendous degrees. Beloved, can your life host the King of glory?

MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday, 7th April, 2026.

On this World Health Day, it is essential to reflect on the significance of taking charge of our health, Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honour God with them. I remember a couple of friends who often neglected their health. They would work tirelessly, ignoring the signs their bodies were giving them. They believed they had to keep pushing, not realizing the severe consequences of their actions. Eventually, their bodies gave in, resulting in total health relapse and, tragically, sometimes even death.

God's Word reminds us of the importance of caring for our bodies. In Exodus 23:25, it says, "Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you." It is clear that taking care of our health is a part of our worship and obedience to God. Ignoring our health can lead to dire consequences, as seen in the lives of those friends who suffered due to neglect.

Jesus Himself took time to rest, as seen in Mark 6:31, where He said to His disciples, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." If our Saviour prioritized rest, how much more should we? We must heed the signs our bodies give us and ensure we are resting, eating well, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Practical steps to take charge of your health include regular exercise, a balanced diet, sufficient sleep, and regular medical check-ups. Proverbs 3:7-8 advises, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." By following these practical steps, we can honour God with our bodies and live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Beloved, no one can truly fulfil divine purpose or serve God well and long enough with an impaired health. Don't let the enemy use any sickness to stop you from enjoying the abundant life Jesus died and rose again to eam for you. You can live a sickness-free live and enjoy divine health everyday by taking charge of your health, by being preventive and proactive and by appropriating God's promises for a life of total wellbeing.

The significance of Christ's atoning sacrifice and substitutionary work is still not clear to many believers nor fully appreciated by them. Beloved, the Bible affirms that Christ alone bore our sins. The word of God says that the Father laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6). It adds that it pleased the Father to bruise Him and put Him to grief - all for our sake.

Jesus paid the penalty of sin, which is death. That penalty was necessitated by the wrath of God and Jesus made Himself the propitiation of that wrath. Similarly, sin's penalty is abandonment and Jesus was abandoned. That is why He cried, "My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?" (Psalm 22:1). He was wounded for our transgression; he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him... and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).

Jesus was made sin; his soul was an offering for our sins. He bore sin in all its offence and liability and so He made an end of sin. He Himself had no sin. He became our substitute. Hence, He takes the cup of curse while we take the cup of blessing. He takes the cup of damnation while we take the cup of salvation. He takes the cup of abandonment while we take the cup of fellowship with the blessed Trinity.

Beloved, it is a great thing that Jesus bore your sins, mine and the sins of the whole world. Do not take this divine privilege for granted or abuse this great grace. Do not live in sin anymore, otherwise you will be guilty of nailing the Son of God to the cross the second time. Examine yourself today in the light of God's word and heed His admonition in 1 Peter 4:1-2: die to sin, live according to God's will and arm yourself with Christ's attitude.

Always remember this biblical truth: Christ died for you and you rose with Him to newness of life. The best way to appreciate Christ's sacrificial love of bearing your sin is to live in righteousness consistently.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday, 5th April, 2026.

Today, we round off our discourse on discovering God in the fire. After the fire came lifting, promotion and elevation for these young men. For every child of God that goes through a fiery furnace kind of situation, victory is assured with Christ on your side.

God often waits for His chosen vessels to discover Him in strange places. Moses discovered God in the burning bush, the strange fire that was burning without consuming the bush. God's presence and power was most felt when Joseph was in prison; Daniel saw the power of God that silenced hungry lions and kept him safe in the lion's den; David grew in faith as he went from cave to cave while running for safety away from his arch enemy, King Saul. Elijah called down the consuming fire of God in the contest with the Baal prophets. Without any controversy, the people acknowledged the Lord God of Israel as the Almighty. The apostles went through many challenges in proclaiming Christ and His kingdom. In it all, they discovered more of God.

As believers in Christ, we are not exempted from the challenges, adversities and troubles of life through which we discover more of God and His sovereign power. God is able to deliver His children from the fire of the enemy, but He requires our steadfast faith and total commitment. When we're confident in Him, He steps in as promised in His word, to deliver us from such situations and we get to know Him more.

Beloved, God does not want us to suffer as wrongdoers according to 1 Peter 4:15-16. However, when we go through tough seasons, He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes, these experiences serve as a divine process of making champions in the company of God's beloved. Our experiences make us sharper arrows in the hand of God and enable us grow in faith. Get ready for such an encounter that will enlist you in that prestigious company.

Daniel 3:1-27
[1] Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its width six cubits. He set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

[2] And King Nebuchadnezzar sent word to gather together the satraps, the administrators, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

[3] So the satraps, the administrators, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered together for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

[4] Then a herald cried aloud: “To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,

[5] that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up;

[6] and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.”

[7] So at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, harp, and lyre, in symphony with all kinds of music, all the people, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the gold image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

[8] Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and accused the Jews.

[9] They spoke and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, live forever!

[10] You, O king, have made a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the gold image;

[11] and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

[12] There are certain Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego; these men, O king, have not paid due regard to you. They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up.”

[13] Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. So they brought these men before the king.

[14] Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up?

[15] Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”

[16] Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

[17] If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.

[18] But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

[19] Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.

[20] And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

[21] Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

[22] Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.

[23] And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

[24] Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”

[25] “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

[26] Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.

[27] And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.

No one enjoys the experience of fire. Yet, God uses fire to demonstrate His power. With fire comes intense heat, pressure, smoke and all kinds of discomfort. Fire burns. No human being can be too familiar with fire or romance it. Fire can destroy and at the same time, it can purify. Fire brings out the beauty in precious metals like diamond, silver and gold. Fire purges. God purges and purifies humans with fire to make them well moulded. Unfortunately, none of us can dictate how God reveals Himself to us.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn't bargain for the fiery furnace of king Nebuchadnezzar, but they ended up being thrown into it. Even though the fire was made seven times hotter, they chose to burn rather than bow to the idol. The intensity of the fire killed the soldiers that threw them in while the young men were divinely insured. Their bands were loosed and they stood up inside the fire, unhurt. They had a visitation in the fire. The Lord, whom they served, became the Fourth Man in the fire.

You may ask, "Why did God allow then to be thrown into the fire before appearing? Why did God allow the king to carry out his threat?" This was an open demonstration of God's sovereign power. He comes when people think it's all over. He is the God of the eleventh hour! The One who appears in seemingly hopeless situations to prove that He has been at work, watching and waiting for the right time to prove His power. Through this event, the people watching had the opportunity to acknowledge God's supremacy over the kings of the earth. Beyond that, it was His way to prove His omnipresence to these young believers. Their faith was strengthened. Their confidence in the Lord God of Israel waxed stronger. He still does the same today for those who can trust Him absolutely even in the face of persecution and harassment of the enemy.

Remembering the poor is a command and obeying it comes with great rewards. In Acts 10, Cornelius, a Gentile (non-Jewish) Roman centurion feared God, prayed regularly and gave generously to the poor. God acknowledged his charitable deeds and sent Peter to him with a message of salvation. The Bible provides other inspiring examples of individuals who cared for the poor:
(1) Ruth showed love and loyalty to her mother-in-law, Naomi - Ruth 2:1-23
(2) Job provided for the poor and vulnerable -Job 29:12-16
(3) Boaz demonstrated kindness and generosity to Ruth, a foreigner and widow - Ruth 2:1-23
(4) The Good Samaritan showed compassion to a stranger in need Luke 10:35-37
(5) Dorcas (Tabitha) was known for her acts of charity and kindness (Acts 9:36-42). When she died, Apostle Peter raised her back to life because her charitable deeds earned her a good reputation and affection.

Let us now examine more deeply the benefits of taking care of the poor. First, your acts of kindness, love and care to the poor, needy and vulnerable will earn you spiritual growth. This is because your obedience to God's will foster a deeper relationship with Him. Second, you will receive numerous blessings and rewards promised in Scripture to those who care for the poor. Proverbs 19:17 affirms that when you pity and give to the poor, you lend to God and the Most High will surely pay you back in multiple folds. Your reward from the Lord can come in form of financial and material blessings, divine health, divine protection, rescue from danger, promotion at work, and so on. Third, In Luke 14:12-15, Jesus said, "When thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just." So, your charitable deeds in this life will have positive implications in the next.

In Matthew 25:31-50, our Fire Scripture for today, Jesus teaches that at the final judgement, people will be separated like sheep and goats. The righteous (sheep) are those that showed compassion to those in need (the poor, orphans, widows, the vulnerable, etc). He stressed that serving others is equivalent to serving Him. Psalm 41:1-3 highlights the benefits of remembering the poor.

Remembering the poor is not about an occasional charity, but about making care for the poor a regular part of ministry and life. In Romans 12:13, the Bible enjoins believers to distribute to the necessity of the saints and be given to hospitality. Similarly, in Galatians 2:10 the apostles, particularly James, Peter and John, told Paul and Barnabas to remember the poor in their ministry. Paul agreed with them and stated that it was something he was already eager to do. Beloved, God expects you to take care of the poor and needy on a regular basis.

Let us now examine some ways you can practically show love and care to the poor, needy and vulnerable.
First, you can serve them with compassion or acts of kindness and mercy. This entails listening and learning about their struggles, showing empathy, treating them with dignity and standing up for their rights and justice.
Second, you can provide them practical help by offering food, shelter, clothing, or financial assistance. Let your empowerment programme and palliatives be human-centred and lift them out of poverty
(3) Provide them means of livelihood by organizing skill acquisition programmes where they can receive entrepreneurial training and seed capital to start a business and be self-employed or help them get paid employment. This particular step will require that you do follow-up and mentoring for the beneficiaries of your programme
(4) Stand up for policies and initiatives that address poverty and inequality. You can call for or lend your voice to a private bill, motion or referendum to end poverty through social welfare support, job training and economic empowerment. Use your voice to raise awareness about issues affecting the poor and vulnerable
(5) Share the gospel with them. Jesus Christ is the One who can truly meet all their needs. The poor need salvation more than anything else. If you truly love and care for them, you should also be concerned about their souls and witness Christ to them. Once they become born again, heaven will take good care of them.

Beloved, God doesn't want you to live a self-centred life. True religion is actively reaching out to those suffering and ensuring their well-being (James 1:27).
