2. It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.

3. And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.

4. And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

8. And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.

9. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.

10. So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.

11. Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:

12. And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

13. And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

14. And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?

15. And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.

16. And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Sunday 27th July 2025.

Jesus said it is not what enters through the mouth that defiles a man but what comes out of him. Many have wasted their destinies through the words of their mouth. An Amalekite came to David and claimed to have killed king Saul in the battlefield, thinking he would be rewarded: instead he was sentenced to death. He did not die because he was fighting an enemy; rather he died because his mouth killed him. Some are in bondage today, not because the enemy put them there, but because their mouth ensnared them.

Your words have the ability to kill you or make you alive. I see a lot of people today, even Christians making utterances that can jeopardize their destinies. God has given man the power to speak things into reality, whether positive or negative. So, stop saying you are finished, because every negative word you utter has the capacity to form a siege against your future. If the enemy cannot stop you, then do not stop your tomorrow with negative comments. The ten spies died in the wilderness because their speeches were ungodly and belittled God's supremacy.

Learn to cultivate the habit of blessing your life with good confession that can accelerate your destiny rather than bringing it backward. The scripture says every idle word shall be judged, meaning we stand the chance of success or failure through our utterance. Words always have effect on the hearer and the speaker; hence, the bible says, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man" (Colossians 4:6) Be a sober Christian, watch your words because it has so much impact on your life.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday 26th July 2025.

God judges and reward our motives. Therefore, we should ensure that our reason for seeking Him, worshipping Him and serving Him are right. In John 6, the Bible affirms that a great multitude followed Jesus, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. Shortly after this, Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two pieces of fish, and those who saw the miracle sought him to make him king who would bring them out of the Roman yoke and provide them free food always. Even when Jesus escaped to Capernaum, the same people boarded a ship to seek him there. When they eventually found Jesus, He told them a plain truth: "Verily verily, I say unto you, ye seek me not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat that perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the son of man shall give unto you, for him have the father sealed' (John 6:26-27).

There are people who seek God for what He can give them; they do not seek to have a genuine and obedient relationship with Him. There are many who do not really want God, but they want his healing, deliverance and material wealth. If you belong to that category, I want you to realize that God cannot be deceived or mocked. God desires those who would cultivate and cherish genuine fellowship and intimacy with him, who seek him simply because they love him and want to love him more. Seeking Him for the sake of your salvation, thriving relationship and service is of great eternal value. If your reason for seeking Jesus is wrong, you have an opportunity to repent today. Do not ignore this caution, it may determine where you spend your eternity.

Beloved, do not allow the enemy to short-change you. Seek God; love, worship and serve Him for who He is!.

Faith is an indispensable companion in the journey of every believer. The Bible affirms that without faith it is impossible to please God and work successfully with Him.

There are different kinds of faith, but the faith God expects His children to demonstrate must be strong, unwavering, persistent and child-like. These are the kinds of faith that can receive great things from the Lord.

Beloved, we are in the last days and perilous times are here. You need faith to navigate and surmount life challenges, which can sometimes be overwhelming. By faith, Abraham became God's friend and purpose partner, Noah built the ark and saved the remnants, Moses led Israel out of Egypt and parted the Red Sea, Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal and turned the hearts of Israel back to God. Faith was the driving force that gave the apostles huge success in the New Testament. More so, faith gave David victory over Goliath, the Philistine giant, and brought honour to the God of Israel.

Dear reader, you need Giant-killing faith today. David's courageous trust in God made him not to consider his own age, experience and stature as against Goliath's. Rather, he focused on the greatness and unfailing ability of His God. Also, he rejected armour and sword; with his sling and five stones he defeated Goliath. He said to Goliath, "Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but l come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied" (1 Samuel 17:45).

Faith in God can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Conquer fear and enemies in your life with courage and trust in God. Are there "giants" threatening and troubling your life today? You must confront and conquer them in the name of the Lord. You can defeat "giants" like poverty, barrenness, unemployment, career and business challenges, health problems, indebtedness, marital delay and turbulence, parental challenges, stagnancy, disfavour, shame, ministerial challenges, etc. All you need to do is to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, and confront your enemies in His wonder-working name. Faith in Christ Jesus will grant you unchallengeable victory.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Thursday 24th July 2025.

How deeply and genuinely a man loves is an indication of the depth of his relationship with God. Where there is no love, there is no God. When Jesus told the lawyer (and by extension us) to love the Lord God with all his heart, all his soul, all his strength and all his mind and his neighbour as himself, he quoted Deuteronomy 6:5. He added that on these two laws depends the law and the prophet (The Old Testament).

Man's failure to obey this foremost commandment has birthed insurgency, marital infidelity, corruption, blackmail, war and several other vices. It is not surprising that a loveless world is also godless. This commandment is the divine prescription for social injustice and other ills like self-centredness and covetousness that are prevalent in different societies today.

As our text reveals, for Jesus, to love your neighbour as you love yourself is to practice justice towards your fellow human beings: do not defraud or rob your neighbour (Lev. 19:13). Do not oppress, rob or exploit the poor by paying unfair wages (Lev. 19:13). Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind (Lev. 19:14). Do not be partial to the poor or show favour to the great but judge honestly (Lev. 19:15), do not commit financial fraud (Lev. 19:16), do not hate your brother (Lev. 19:17), do not seek revenge or hold a grudge but extend forgiveness (Lev. 19:18).

Many people claim to love God, but hate their brother or sister or neighbour. Their claim is false. When you have God's love in your heart, you will also love your brother, sister and neighbour. Apostle John clarified this in 1 John 4:20-21: "If a man says, I love God and hate his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And his commandment have we from him. that he who loveth God love his brother also".

Let us understand Jesus' message in the golden rule. We must first succeed in loving God for us to succeed in loving our brother, sister and neighbour. Therefore, l advise you to strengthen your relationship with God and receive grace to love others. As someone rightly observed, the farther man goes away from God. the more unloving, selfish and uncaring, he will become. Conversely, when you draw closer to God and Improve your fellowship with Him, your love for Him will increase, and you Will have more grace to love others even those that seem unlovable. Loving others is the work of grace. Ask God for it and he will provide it.

3. Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment?

4. Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5. And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday 23rd July 2025.

Every good and every perfect gift comes from God. Whether spiritual or physical, God expects us to use the gifts He endows us with to serve Him and demonstrate His love to our fellow men. Do you know that your position in the workplace, family and church are God's special gifts to you? Do you also know that your talent and physical possessions belong to God? How you use these gifts determines whether you are living to please God or running your own show.

Haman occupied a privileged position in the cabinet of king Ahaserus. He was what one would call the king's chief of staff in modern day government. However, Haman became a victim of the corrupting influence of power. He got power drunk and high-handed, insisting everyone bows to him. When Mordecai did not bow to him because it was against the law of God, who commanded that a Jew must not bow to anything or anyone other than Him, Haman became furious and sought to destroy him as well as the entire Jewish population.

Haman's threat was not an empty one. Mordecai and Esther knew this and they sought the face of God for three days in fasting and prayer. God orchestrated the downfall of Haman. The king could not sleep until he asked for the book of remembrance, discovered Mordecai's good deeds and decided to reward him. Mordecai's promotion marked the beginning of the end of Haman.

Queen Esther exposed Haman as an enemy of her people and of the king as well. Haman earned the king's wrath and severe punishment awaited him. The king ordered that Haman be hung on the gallows he built for Mordecai. I pray for you, that the weapon your enemy has prepared to harm you shall destroy your enemy. Henceforth, the law of divine substitution will work in your favour, in the name of Jesus.

Has God bestowed anointing, position, authority or wealth on you? Do not use any of these to oppress others. Rather, let them experience the love and goodness of God through you. In doing so, you will bear more fruits and your fruits will abide.

19. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

22. For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday 22nd July 2025.

David was a prophet and a king. The fact that he was anointed three different times, made him Israel's greatest king he never lost any battle and he penned numerous psalms, including the messianic psalm in which he asked, "why do the heathen rage?"

The heathens are unbelievers; those who have not come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. They are on the enemy's side and are instrument in the hand of their master, the devil. They perpetrate satan's agenda: to steal to kill and to destroy. They oppose and seek to frustrate the purpose, work and people of God. Goliath and the philistine army were the heathen who raged the Israelites and sought to overthrow them. God used David to defeat the enemies of His children.

Our fire scripture today is an interesting account of the exploits Peter and John began to do after they had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Peter had made a man lame from his mother's womb and who asked alms at the temple to walk. When the man received his miracle, he entered the temple for the first time, jubilating. Besides, the miracle attracted a large number of people to Peter and John. Peter preached testifying the awesome power of Jesus Christ and won 5000 souls for the Lord, that same day. This infuriated the priests, captains of the temple and the Sadducees who arrested and locked up the two Apostles.

When the rulers interrogated Peter and John demanding that they say the power by which they performed the miracle. Peter said it was by the name of Jesus Christ, whom they crucified. This further enraged them and they took counsel among themselves saying, "what shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable miracle had been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it." The council decided to stop further spread of the miracle working power. So they threatened Peter and John and commanded them never to speak or teach anymore in the name of Jesus. To this, Peter said, "it is better to obey God than man."

Often, the enemy rages when the children of God are committed to their divine assignment and their ways please heaven, as was the Case with Peter and John, Nehemiah and his comrades who took up the project of rebuilding Jerusalem. The goal of the enemy is to discourage and frustrate the saints. What should you do when the enemy rages? Borrow a leaf from Peter and John who went to their company and prayed and the Holy Spirit came and emboldened them. Also, take a cue from Nehemiah who also prayed and foiled the wiles of his distracters. When you pray and stay committed to the cause of heaven, the Spirit of God will lift up a standard against the enemy and the One that sits in heaven shall disgrace him, in Jesus name.

May the Lord arise and quench every rage of darkness against you, in the name of Jesus.

The spirit of excellence in you is for problem solving. The Holy Ghost is the spirit of excellence personified. He is the mastermind behind the construction of the world because he was there when God was laying the foundation of the earth. It is the Holy Ghost, the spirit of excellence that hovered upon the face of the deep, according Genesis 1:2. It is the Holy Ghost, the spirit of excellence in Daniel, who interpreted the dreams for Nebuchadnezzar when he was baffled with a problem he did not understand. Every time the spirit of excellence comes into manifestation through Daniel, it is always geared towards solving a problem. This is an essential attribute to learn about Daniel. He is a problem solver and the spirit of God is ever ready to back him up with manifestations every time he sets out to act.

Jesus speaking in Luke also tells us about the purpose of the spirit of excellence which is the spirit of our God. He said "The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18-19. Daniel was an administrator who was called upon to help in the administration of several kings. How did Daniel manifest the spirit of excellence? First, we see from the scriptures that Daniel maintained a life of fasting. He was determined not to defile himself with the king's food or with the wine drank in the palace. When it was announced that no one should worship other gods but the king Darius alone, we see him do something extraordinary, Daniel in the scriptures flung his windows open and prayed three times daily. To manifest the spirit of excellence demands the sacrifice of denying self. The spirit of excellence is the spirit of greatness. It made Daniel great and brought him before kings. You can experience the same if you are ready to embrace the Holy Spirit and desist from anything that can tarnish your body, soul and spirit.

The Spirit of Excellence is the spirit of God personified. It is the spirit without error. It is also the spirit of perfection. The finished work of Christ has freely provided us with the spirit of excellence in its full measure. Apostle Peter in his second epistle prays for us that “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord”. The spirit of excellence is encompassed with all excellent virtues. Grace and peace included. He further emphasized that grace and peace will be multiplied to you just as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that had called us to glory and virtue: whereby they have given unto us exceeding grace and precious promises: that by these, ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in this world but also that we have been given great and precious promises to partake in God’s divine nature. What is God’s divine nature? It is the spirit of excellence. Thus, through the finished work of Christ, we are partakers of the excellent nature of God.

What do we mean by the word excellence? According to the American Heritage Dictionary, excellence is defined as “the state, quality, or condition of excelling; superiority.” So, the spirit of excellence is the spirit of distinction. It is all we need to conquer what conquers others. We also see from our memory verse, the life of Daniel, that he was preferred above the presidents and governors. Why? The Bible tells us that it is because an excellent spirit was in him. You do not need many doors, all you need is the right door and what opens the right door is the spirit of excellence. The spirit of excellence in Daniel made the king send for him and set him over the administration of his kingdom. You have the excellent spirit in you, if you are born again and have received the Holy Ghost. If not, receive Jesus into your life now and the spirit of excellence will come to live inside of you.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

What we are considering today will provide solutions to problems which many are going through. Beloved, you are reminded, the three-letter word, ‘but’, can change everything. You must challenge anything that is challenging the glory of God in your life. Do you know that a single ‘but’ can wipe away all your fantastic positive qualities?

Many biblical giants or potential giants lost out as a result of one single ‘but’ in their lives. Moses was a mighty prophet, but he had a ‘but’ called anger and that anger did not allow him to get into the promised land. Gehazi might have been a mighty prophet, he might have been a prophet of fire and thunder like his master, Elisha; he had the ‘but’ of covetousness and the love of money. That singular ‘but’ deported Gehazi to the land of lepers. David was an excellent psalmist, a powerful soldier, a great musician, and an outstanding prayer warrior. He had the singular giant seductive ‘BUT’ of sexual immorality which denied him the glorious position that God reserved for him. What is that ‘but’ troubling your heart now? Are you the kind of person who is greatly gifted but has one character deficit? What is the ‘but’ troubling your Israel today? Call upon the God of perfection. Call upon Him who is known as the El-Shaddai. Cry to Him, whose power knows no comparison. Run to Him who can render diviners mad.

Hide under Him whose powers can swallow other powers. Seek Him, who has the Superior power, the Unquenchable power, the Unchallengeable power, the Unsearchable power, the Awesome power, the Everlasting power, and the Supreme power. Recline on Him whose power can change anything or anyone. As Naaman received the information to overcome his ‘but’, you are being provided with the information that will bring out positive changes in your life. Naaman got the information that there is a possibility that could wipe out his ‘but’ and he positively used the information to rid himself of the problem. The information you are receiving now should be converted to a great weapon of victory. What is the ‘but’ in your life? Get ready to rid yourself of it today. Jesus is spreading His hands of love to receive you and wash away your ‘but’, by the power of His Blood and authority in the name.

There are lots of spiritual problems that trouble man. Upon every life, a little bit of terrible rain will fall. Any dream of trouble-free life is a fraudulent dream. The Bible says, “Man that is born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” The word ‘but’ always infers that there is something wrong with a situation.

Whether we admit it or not, each one of us has faults, weaknesses, or other ‘buts’ in our lives. There was an intelligent professor who was a drunkard. That was his ‘but.’ There are great men with ‘buts.’ Naaman was a great man, ‘but’ he was a leper. God wants to address the ‘but’ in your life. If you call him into the situation, He will reverse it, no matter how terrible it is. Saul was a great religious man and was a very powerful man: ‘but’ he had weak morals. Peter was a great fisherman and a great disciplinarian, ‘but’ he denied Jesus three times. God has the power to reverse negative circumstances and to melt away every negative situation. 

There is a problem.

It is the problem of unbelief which is one great tragedy of our present generation of Christians. Many will believe the doctors but they will not believe the Bible. Many will believe the consultant, but they will not believe the Holy Spirit.

The power of God has been undermined to the extent that many do not believe in miracles anymore. At one crusade, a lady said that she thought there were no miracles anymore. She said that she thought that the people who come to testify were paid to do so. What a tragedy! But if you can put your trust absolutely in God, He is able to give you the power to overcome the ‘but’ in your life, in the name of Jesus.

The mystery of the midnight war is what we are looking at in today’s devotional study. As we examine the concept of the midnight battle, we shall learn it as a principle of spiritual warfare. The hour of darkness, the midnight hour is a time of spiritual battle and every Christian must be adequately prepared.

The Bible talks about night raiders. When somebody is hungry and eats food, he or she gets satisfied. To a natural human being, there are some foods that are liked. Some people like pounded yam; some like rice, others like other local dishes. The food of the night raider is pure wickedness. They get satisfied and derive pleasure in carrying their acts of wickedness. Their intention is violence. Their means of attack is violent and the effects of all these are wicked acts.

Beloved, many of the problems that are experienced during the day are programmed, completed and delivered in the hours of the night. Most of the terrible things that people go through during the day are programmed during the night. Those responsible for these activities are the night raiders. That is why the night remains the best time at which we can pray the most successful prayers. You must arise as a Christian to confront and conquer in the name of the Lord, these wicked activities.

Any battle won in the night is the victory of the day. Whoever loses the battle of the night becomes a victim of defeat for the day. Many people are troubled at midnight. It is the time that the mighty are taken away into the land of bondage. The night robbers are busy robbing people of their destinies. Satanic agents are busy consuming or distributing the bread of wickedness and intoxicating themselves with the wine of violence. The powers engaged in these midnight wars must be dealt with. This is why it is very important for believers to make it a point of duty to wake up at night and pray. Thus, the battle is taken to the enemy’s doorstep.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Wednesday 16th July 2025

How can you identify and locate what you have in your hands? It is only by seeing with the eyes of God. The eyes of God do not see things the way they are; it rather sees the best that can come out of things. See the best that those things in your hands can manufacture for you. That is why Apostle Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18 "that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened." It is for you to see beyond your nose, it is for you to discover the thing God has placed in your hands. You have to do this prayerfully. God never leaves any human empty. He has place something in our lives to cause us to manifest and succeed in life.

Maybe something is probing your mind right now. Probably you have discovered those things in your hands as a defect. There lies another challenge. That thing in your hand cannot take you far in life, if you do not believe it will. Is it the ability to counsel people you have in your hand? Is it an organizing skill that you have? What exactly is it? Or does it look foolish to you? However, it may seem, go for it. In the on-going trend of our present world, anything works. We are in the age where virtually anything and everything is marketable. Believe in it and go for it.

The reality of how Jesus fed the five thousand people in the four synoptic gospels was solely based on what they had in their hands. They had five loaves of bread and two fishes, but that was what Jesus used to transform to miracle. He took the five loaves of bread, thank God for what they have and then the next thing was a multiplication. Discover what you have in your hands by looking with the eyes of God. Thank God for them and the result will be tremendous.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday 15th July 2025

Countless time many people have ignorantly claimed how helpless they are. They are of the opinion that they have no one to help them and nothing to live for. All they see around them is emptiness and darkness. So, they look on the outside for help that they can however generate from around them and within them. In today’s scripture, we see that Moses life was about to take a new turn as God called him for a critical assignment. Although Moses saw himself as incapable and not having the instruments needed to fulfill the assignment but God saw something in the hands of Moses which he believed is enough to carry out the assignment and fulfill it. The Lord asked Moses “What is that in your hand?” he replied “A rod”. My question to you now is what do you have in your hand? Moses had the rod in his hands.

David had the sling with which he conquered and killed Goliath.

Your assignment in life will be fulfilled by what you have in your hand. How far you will go will be determined by what you have in your hand. But there is a challenge somewhere. The challenge comes when you do not believe you have anything. Think carefully. No matter how intangible or foolish the things around you may seem to you, it is still something and worth putting into use. Moses never saw anything tangible about the rod he held with him over the years. He saw the rod as a liability, but when the eyes of God located the rod, the eyes of God saw an asset. Moses did valiantly with the rod that was in his hands. He parted the red sea with the rod; he provided water from the rock with the rod. He delivered the Israelites from the pangs of slavery with the rod. He met with kings with the rod. He won several battles for the Israelites with the rod. You need to brace up and see with the eyes of God.

First, believe you are not a liability; believe that regardless of how worse the state of things in your life may be presently, there must be something you have which is capable of bringing a positive revolution into your life. See with the eyes of God and locate that thing you have in your hands. What you have in your hands is the breath of God. Refuse to be pitied, locate what you have in your hands.
